Not sure what all these other reviews are all about or what they expected. Noise is subjective so of course they are entitled to their opinion but opinions should be based in facts and in this case they are 100% wrong. I am a Garage Door Technician. While this is Not the Opener we sell the most and it is a little louder than All the other belt drives built in the last five years it is far quieter than any new Genie I have installed and when compared to ALL older openers 7 years or older it is noticeably quieter. ( Noise is subjective) more times than not customers complaining of noise after a new opener is installed are actually hearing noise from the garage door. Dragging clicking, popping, wobbling Rollers, bad bearings, hinges, and springs. Doors should be serviced and old wearing parts replaced.
This opener is the “starter” opener of the belt drive series it is reliable, durable, and quiet-ish plus it has wifi. For the price point I would put it against any completive opener in its class. But your expectations need to be realistic. Don’t compare it to the 8355, 8550, or other premium openers… its not a premium. But it is a quality product that runs smoothly from the most reliable Brand preferred by professionals.
ALTHOUGH EIGHT FOOT DOORS ARE BECOMING MORE COMMON IN NEW COSTRUCTION SEVEN FOOT HIGH GARAGE DOORS ARE STILL CONSIDERED THE STANDARD INSTALLATION HEIGHT.
SEVEN FOOT DOORS DO NOT TECHNICALLY HAVE SEVEN FOOT RAILS. AN EASY WAY TO CALCULATE HOW FAR THE OPENER WILL COME INTO THE ROOM IS BY ADDING + 3’4″ TO THE DOOR HEIGHT. YOU WANT TO INSURE THAT YOU HAVE THE HEAD ROOM AVAILABLE ALL THE WAY BACK TO THAT POINT IF YOU ARE WANTING TO USE A STANDARD OVERHEAD RAIL GARAGE DOOR OPENER.
